⛰️ Yangmingshan Steam & Grassland

Taipei · One day · 3 stops · 60% local · ~1.7 km walked (~2,200 steps) · chill pace

A volcano for a city park — sulfur vents, buffalo grasslands, and free hot-spring baths, forty minutes from downtown.

⛰ Terrain: demanding. Mountain trails and boardwalk climbs.

🛡 Safety: relaxed. Crime-free; weather turns fast — fog and wind are the real hazard.

Bus 260 or 1717 up the mountain early. Xiaoyoukeng's steaming vents first, walk or shuttle to Qingtiangang's buffalo grassland (October for silvergrass), then soak your feet at Lengshuikeng's free baths before heading down. Weekdays are empty; weekends are Taipei.
